A case of pedunculated nipple adenoma in a 12 year old Nigerian girl
is reported with the view to informing clinicians in Nigeria of the
existence of this rare clinical entity. This case is interesting from
several prints of view, namely its rarity, the controversies over its
nomenclature, and the frequency of with which it is misdiagnosed,
leading to mismanagement such as mastectomy for this benign condition.
Like most Nigerian patients her late presentation led to the massive
size and peculiar presentation of this tumour.
