Modulatory Effect of Vitamin C and E on Dihydroartemisinin (Cotecxin) Induced Hepatotoxicity in Wistar Albino Rats

Abstract


 

The modulatory effect of vitamin C and E supplementation during dihydroartemisinin administration on the body weight and serum liver enzymes in wistar albino rats investigated. Thirty two adult albino rats weighing between 180 260g were used. There were divided into four groups of eight rats each. Group A served as the control and was administered distilled water. Groups B, C and D, were the experimental groups and were given cotecxin + vitamin A and cotecxin + vitamin E respectively for two weeks.
